Kamala Almanzar has been a professional belly dancer who has appeared in TV and film since the 1970s, as well as many theatre productions in many countries. Kamala currently teaches in Los Angeles, and is available for choreography and workshops. Her students consistently win competitions and many have become professional dancers as well. Still performing, since 1977. I could retire & grow old on my sofa, or I can keep dancing, because my body still allows it. If I can be an inspiration to anyone who thinks they are too old to dance, then I feel good about what I'm doing.

Rest in peace David Soul. It's hard to wrap my head around the idea that the handsome young man in these clips passed away at the age of 80. Here are some highlights from the 1st International Raqs Film Festival Awards show. I produced the Dance Festival along with DanceGardenLA. We had Bellydance films from all over the United States, India, Canada, Korea, Australia, and all over Europe. The 2nd International Raqs Film Festival will be announced soon for March 2022.

Students performed virtually in the DanceGardenLA Fiesta, the annual recital for Bellydance classes. Improvisation through the decades, from Golden Age to the pandemic year 2020. Followed by Choreography class performing to a classic by Ahmed Fouad Hassan.
